One of the most important volunteer roles we have available, as they involve working directly with the children and families that need our help.
The support and contribution given by our clinical volunteers is invaluable and makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives. It is the gift of time that you can bring that will help us to fulfil our vision, to expand our services and support, to benefit as many families as possible.
To become a clinical volunteer we are looking for passionate people from a variety of backgrounds with experience in social work, social care, healthcare or education ideally with the following;

Amanda Robb 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Newark)
Amanda is a Level 5 Counselling student at Ridgeway College. She has completed her Communication Through Play training and volunteered at the annual bereavement residential
Ant Sacco 1:1 Volunteer Counsellor (Newark)
Ant is a qualified Art Therapist with an MA Art Psychotherapy from University of Derby. In addition to volunteering at the Children’s Bereavement Centre so provides art therapy in primary and secondary schools.
Helen Bowers 1:1 Volunteer Counsellor (Newark)
Helen is a qualified Counsellor with a Level 3 Counselling from Grantham College. She has many years of experience as a Learning Support Assistant. In addition to her 1:1 work at the CBC she has brought her Pets As Therapy (PAT) dog to our group activities.
Laura Holmes 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Newark)
Laura is a Level 4 Counselling student at AIM. She also has experience providing bereavement support through the NHS.
Shazia Asim 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Newark)
Shazia is a Level 4 Counselling student at AIM. She also has experience providing support for women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Carla Rose 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Rushcliffe)
Carla is a Level 4 Counselling student at AIM. She also works as a Teaching Assistant.
Jennifer Nelson 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Online)
Jennifer is a Level 4 Counselling student at Counselling Training the Midlands (CTTM). She has supported CBC for many years, delivering sessions at our conferences and volunteering at multiple CBC bereavement residentials.
Jessica Westrop 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer
Jessica is a MSc Counselling Children and Young People student at University of Northampton. She has a BA Early Childhood Studies from University of West of England and is an experienced Nursery Nurse.
Martin Biddle 1:1 Volunteer Counsellor (Online)
Martin is a qualified Counsellor with a MSc Integrative Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). He is also a Counsellor at a local university.
Julie Turner 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Mansfield)
Julie is a Level 4 Counselling student at Counselling Training the Midlands (CTTM). She is an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, has a Level 2 British Sign Language and specialises in neurodiversity and ADHD.
Samantha Martin 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Mansfield)
Samantha is a Level 4 Counselling student at ATTFE. She has a BSc Social Psychology from Open University and has voluntary experience in schools.
Téa Oliver 1:1 Bereavement Volunteer (Mansfield)
Téa is a MA Dance Movement Psychotherapy student at University of Derby. She has a Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 7 Social Services (Children and Young People) and is an experienced Childcare Practitioner.

Laura is a Level 4 Counselling student at AIM. She also works as a Teaching Assistant and has experience providing bereavement support through the NHS.
Pauline Doughty 1:1 Volunteer Support Worker (Sutton in Ashfield)
Pauline is a qualified Youth Worker with many years of experience. She has also volunteered at multiple CBC bereavement residentials.
