One donation, twice the impact.

The Children's Bereavement Centre are delighted to be taking part in the Big Give #ChristmasChallenge 2024. The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match funded campaign,

We have been collecting pledge promises which are commitments of funding which form part of our charity’s match funding pot for the campaign.

Here’s how it works…

  • 4 local businesses, Hardy's Farndon, RA Writers for Hire, GFT and InterAlpha have kindly pledged to our match-fund. This means that donations we receive during the Big Give week (3rd-10th December, 2024) will be doubled
  • For every £5 donated throughout the Big Give week, £5 will be taken from the pledge / match-fund pot meaning the donation will have twice the impact
  • A donation of £10 could cover the cost of a special bear which primary school aged children receive when accessing bereavement counselling at the Children's Bereavement Centre
  • Our big give donation page will be open on December 3rd, 2024

How we could use your donation...

We all remember cuddling our favourite bear when were younger and the feelings of security, safety and the comfort it brought. All primary school aged children accessing 1:1 bereavement counselling are offered a special bear to take away with them to talk about their feelings and emotions. A bear can ease stress, build confidence, soothe tears and can help a child handle fear, anxiety and the unknown. It is an important part of the range of support provided to help children cope with their grief and bring hope for a bring hope for a brighter future.

Funding a bear to bring hope for grieving children this Christmas.

Donations will support the charity’s Christmas Fund a Bear Appeal 2024, to help fund specialist support that will help bring comfort to a child at one of the most devastating times in their life. It will help to make the future more bearable and bring hope to grieving children this Christmas.

Thank you to the following businesses who have pledged...
