This group of children and young people who have been bereaved and/or benefited from our service in the past, provide an invaluable insight into further developing our support for children and young people and raising the profile of the charity.  They meet bi-monthly and have already contributed to developing our monthly peer support group, promotion of services and fundraising ideas for which they receive training and support.

Kenny Stevenson, Young AmbassadorKenny Stevenson is one of our young Ambassadors, here's his story.

"I received help from the children's bereavement centre in 2016 after a very difficult time in my life. The service I received was amazing and helped me understand I wasn't alone and there are many other children and young people going through similar situations.

I had some 1-1 counselling sessions and attended the 2 day bereavement camp in summer 2016.

I can back with new understandings and wanting to give back to this worthwhile charity.

My family and I have been fundraising ever since and have raised a substantial amount of funds to help others.

I am now one of the young ambassadors at the CBC and try my hardest to volunteer at events even though I have to travel from Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The thing I gain most from volunteering at the CBC is the knowledge of knowing I can help make a small difference to a child/young person and their family at what is one of their most emotional and vulnerable times of their lives. Knowing from past experience how they changed my future is something that makes me feel proud to support the CBC, kids are the future and deserve the help now."
