1:1 Bereavement Volunteer Opportunities 🌟 Join Our Team as a 1:1 Volunteer 🌟 We are now recruiting for our 1:1 Volunteer roles, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults who are grieving. We have three levels of 1:1 Volunteers: 1:1 Volunteer Counsellors – Qualified counsellors supporting more complex cases. 1:1 Bereavement Volunteers – Students currently on counselling or related placements (Level 4 or above). 1:1 Bereavement Support Volunteers – Qualified in related fields supporting children with memory book work and related activities. Aimed more at teaching staff, youth workers, mental health support workers, those who may have significant experience with children and young people but those who aren't qualified counsellors or training to be. Role description click here ✨ What We’re Looking For: Aged 21 or over Able to commit to at least 12 months volunteering Available to support a minimum of three children/adults per week (with the option to take on more) Willing to complete session notes and assessments Happy to undergo a DBS check (we can arrange this if needed) 🧑🎓 Training & Development: Full mandatory and safeguarding training (online & in-person) Completion of training and a reflective journal assessment within 3 months Observation sessions during your first cases (with consent) Ongoing professional development, mentoring, and supervision 💙 Volunteer Support & Benefits: Access to our facilities (own laptop preferred) Travel expenses reimbursed at 45p per mile (up to 25 miles each way) £15 per month contribution toward external supervision (if not covered by your university or elsewhere) Monthly supervision provided for non-counselling qualified volunteers Twice-yearly volunteer gatherings Assigned internal mentor for guidance and support 👉 If you’re compassionate, committed, and ready to support others through their bereavement journey, we would love to hear from you.
