This week, Paula Drummond, Bereavement Team Lead held our new ‘Communication Through Play’ training in Newark, the first session of new training the Children's Bereavement Centre are offering for 2024.
This workshop is designed to improve your practical skills to better support children or young people affected by bereavement and loss. This kind of training will increase your understanding of how special play sessions can help children who have had difficult life experiences which are impacting on their learning and behaviour.

"The communication through play training I accessed from the Children’s Bereavement Centre was brilliant. It was delivered by Paula, who had a wealth of knowledge and expertise that she was ready to share with the trainees. The day was packed full of theory, advice, knowledge and practical activities that meant I left feeling equipped to have a go at using Make a World and Special Time as an intervention. Most importantly, the training impressed on me the power and importance of play in children’s development. I would recommend the training to other colleagues unreservedly."
